Szerencsejáték Zrt’s Level UP! Graduate and Internship Program is open for applications again

The application process for Szerencsejáték Zrt’s Level UP! Graduate and Internship Program opened on 1 March 2022. The mission of the incubation program run by the Hungarian National Lottery is to offer a career opportunity for higher education students as interns or as young graduates for those who have up to two years of work experience already. After several rounds of selection, they will be able to join the community of the National Lottery with a remuneration package that is outstanding in market terms.  

Szerencsejáték Zrt. invites applications for the graduate and internship programme until 18 April. Applicants will be given a chance to demonstrate their aptitude in a multi-stage selection process that includes an interview and an Assessment Centre. Once they pass all the hurdles, they will be offered a permanent contract by the National Lottery. Once they are recruited an intensive learning process will follow for the newcomers, during which they will participate in a joint development program and will also learn about the company's products, operations and senior management.

"In line with our business strategy until 2025, our aim is to level up and create the foundations for our long-term, successful operations. I am convinced that it is inconceivable that we can achieve our ambitious objectives without suitably qualified and motivated professionals. In this spirit, we need to offer exciting and professional development programs for young career entrants, such as our Level UP! program, that we launched last year" - said Dr. Alex Bozóky, CEO of Szerencsejáték Zrt.  He added: "We have had very positive experiences from the first year. The 26 new colleagues who joined us, became active members of our community almost immediately with the new perspectives and fresh knowledge they brought, which to us was confirmation that we are on the right track and that we should continue our program."

The specific design of the graduate program means that 80% of the participants work in the field and spend 20% of their working time in centrally organized training and development. The intensive onboarding process of the first quarter provides a detailed introduction to the different professional fields and company processes, laying the foundation for the focal interest of the first year, project management.

"Much like last year, mentors will help participants from the very beginning to settle in and implement their jointly drafted development plan." - emphasised Miklós Cseh, Director of Human Resources of Szerencsejáték Zrt. "However, the program is not only unique because of the mentor support. Beyond thoroughly getting to understand their chosen field, participants will - through longer or shorter rotations - have the opportunity to gain insight into the work of other directorates and to participate in horizontal corporate projects, and during the three years may also gain experience abroad." - added the company's HR Director.

Szerencsejáték Zrt. also welcomes interns in addition to the Level UP! internship program. This is open to university students who would like to work 20-30 hours per week and wish to gain relevant corporate work experience during their studies. After the selection process, they can start work with mentoring, participate in skills training sessions and later apply for the recruit programme or a full-time position.

17 new graduates and 9 interns were selected from more than 500 applicants to join the first edition of the Szerencsejáték Zrt. Level UP! Program in September 2021. In the little over 5 months since then, they have reported of a variety of professional tasks, complex development programmes implemented, a uniquely supportive community, exciting and unique projects.

Level UP! graduates and interns joining last year, were asked along with their line managers about the program in an internal survey conducted by the national lottery at the beginning of 2022. Without exception, interns cited the cohesive team as a strength of the program, and 80% of them highlighted the pleasant working atmosphere. Young graduates were also completely satisfied with the Level UP! community they joined. The perception of young people participating in the program is particularly good within the Szerencsejáték Zrt. organisation, with 86% of the professional managers surveyed believing that young people are gaining effectiveness in their work.
