In keeping with the practice of previous years, the Hungarian National Lottery Company makes its limited-edition Christmas scratch cards available again to its players this year. Sale of these latest products began on 6 November. This year's Christmas scratch cards feature 5 different graphic designs. Anyone buying the “Nagykarácsony” scratch cards, evoking the Advent fair, will once again contribute to the construction of additional inclusive playgrounds.

Since 2017, Szerencsejáték Zrt. has been investing a part of the revenues from the “Nagykarácsony” scratch cards into designing and building playgrounds that help children living with and without disabilities to become tolerant and open-minded adults through the experience of playing together. Thanks to the country-wide initiative a total of 13 inclusive playgrounds have been built in Budapest and the countryside by the end of 2020.

Design of these inclusive playgrounds has been totally compliant with the concept of “universal design”, working together with its professional partners, the National Lottery Company introduced several new elements in the recent stages of the so-called “Playing connects us all!” program: the range of play equipment has been expanded and made more diverse, every playground is designed around specific children’s tale theme.

Surveys carried out by the National Lottery Company have shown, that seasonal Christmas scratch cards are especially dear to the heart of Hungarian players, they are happy and willing to spend on it, to gift it and welcome the idea that buying such a card also contributes to a charitable cause. The survey has shown that the scratch card is especially popular among young adults: the proportion of the 18-29 age group was significantly higher than any other among those buying it and those trying it. 73% of those buying such a card considered it especially important that they can support a good cause by their purchase. This is also substantiated by the numbers, during the past three years those scratch cards enthusiasts have purchased a total of 7,5 million of the “Nagykarácsony” scratch cards.
